About the Competition

As India steps into its 75th year of Independence , Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a mega celebration initiative “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. It comprises of activities during the 75 weeks countdown to the actual 75th anniversary of Independence in 2022 and for a year beyond till 15th August 2023. One of the objectives of activites under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a global outreach to highlight India’s cultural heritage in order to promote India’s rich legacy around the world, alongside depicting India’s growth in all spheres.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) - the cultural arm of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India , has been actively pursuing promotion of Indian culture abroad through its 37 indian cultural centers functioning abroad and the Indian diaspora.

In recognition of the unique and deep association of various citizens from overseas countries with India and its culture, ICCR has taken this mega initiative of organizing Pratibha Sangam Competition – the first ever global competition under its aegis, for performers from around the world in the categories of classical Indian Music and Dances. This competition shall be judged by a stellar jury drawn from amongst the leading exponents of these performing arts in India.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to the citizens of Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Fiji, Germany, Guyana, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Teheran, Thailand , Trinidad & Tobago, UK, USA, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. This Competition is not open for NRIs and PIOs.

The participants shall be of minimum age of 20 years and maximum age of 35 Years.The cut- off date for determining minimum and maximum age limit is 31 January 2022

Confidentiality

All the personal information provided by the entrants will be kept confidential. The announcements will reveal only the identities of the winners of the competition, with information such as name, age, gender, category of award and the country. The participants unconditionally grant the rights to ICCR, Consent for use of their videos by the organizers for promotion activities in future . This is irrevocably implicit in their act of submission of the entries in this competition.
