Laying of foundation stone for construction of Cold Store Building in Tehrathum district
The Foundation Stone for the construction of a cold store building, in Laligurans Municipality, Ward No. 2 of the Tehrathum District in Koshi Province of Nepal, was jointly laid today by Mr. Rishabh Deo, First Secretary, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and Mr. Arjun Mabohang, Mayor, Laligurans Municipality.
2. The cold store building is being built with Government of India’s financial assistance of Nepali Rupees 4.41 crore approximately. This High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), will be implemented through the Laligurans Municipality, Tehrathum, and will be the 2nd HICDP being undertaken in Tehrathum district of Nepal.
3. The Mayor of Laligurans Municipality, Tehrathum and other stakeholders appreciated the developmental support being provided by the Government of India, and expressed confidence that the new facility would help develop a sustainable and long-term agricultural business model in the Laligurans Municipality.
4. As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
