TCNOC FOR INDIAN NATIONALS TO TRAVEL TO THIRD COUNTRY FROM NEPAL

All Indian nationals require 'THIRD COUNTRY NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE’ (TCNOC) from the Embassy of India, Kathmandu to travel to any third country from Nepal. Currently, TCNOC is issued physically at the Embassy.

Document checklist

a) Valid passport: Applicants must present their original passport at the Embassy. They should  also submit one photocopy of: - (i) first & last page of the passport, (ii) page containing valid visa/residence permit/travel permit that allows legal entry to the third country they are travelling to, and (iii) page containing latest Indian immigration stamp;

b) Indian nationals ordinarily resident in Nepal should present their original Registration
Certificate issued by the Embassy and submit a photocopy of it.

c) Copy of flight ticket, and

d) Two passport sized photographs

Fee: NPR 3290/-

Exemptions

Following categories of Indian nationals are exempted from the requirement of TCNOC:

i. Indian nationals below the age of 10 years,
ii. Indian nationals whose departure from Nepal to a third country by air is within 24 hours of their arrival in Nepal by air, and
iii. Indian nationals travelling on Diplomatic/Official/United Nations passport

Important Note:

i. TCNOC is mandatory for all Indian passport holders irrespective of the permanent residences or special visas in third countries.
ii. Applicants must submit their documents in person within three working days from the date of departure
iii. TCNOC will be issued after interview/due examination of documents.
