Laying of foundation stone for construction of Municipal Hospital in Udayapur, Nepal
The Foundation Stone for the construction of Municipal Hospital, Triyuga Municipality-5, Udayapur district in Koshi province of Nepal, was jointly laid today by Mr. Narayan Singh, First Secretary, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and Mr. Basant Kumar Basnet, Mayor, Triyuga Municipality.
2. The Hospital Building is being built with financial assistance of approximately Nepali Rupees 12.3 crore from Government of India under its High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) initiative. The project will be implemented through the Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur. It is the 12th HICDP being undertaken in Udayapur district of Nepal.
3. The Mayor of Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur and other stakeholders appreciated the developmental support being provided by the Government of India, and expressed confidence that the new facility would help promote better access to healthcare services in the Triyuga Municipality.
4. As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued commitment of the Government of India to strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, including through the augmentation of infrastructure in priority sectors.
