General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Indian Army, arrived at Kathmandu on an official visit to Nepal, marking another significant milestone in the longstanding and unique defence partnership between India and Nepal. The visit is to honour the unique and time tested tradition between the two countries of conferring the honorary rank of General upon each other's Army Chiefs—a practice that symbolizes the exceptional military relationship shared by India and Nepal. Upon his arrival, General Dhiraj Seth was warmly received by senior officials of the Nepali Army and representatives of the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
The Chief of the Army Staff held a productive discussion with H.E. Shri Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Nepal. The visit is expected to further strengthen the multifaceted India–Nepal relationship and deepen cooperation across various domains of defence and security.
