Foundation Stone Laid for Construction of Buildings at Janhit Secondary School, Kavrepalanchowk

   The foundation stone for the construction of a new school building at Shree Janhit Secondary School in Namobuddha Municipality was laid by Mr. Narayan Singh, First Secretary, Embassy of India; Mr. Kunsang Lama, Mayor of Namobuddha Municipality; and Mr. Laxmi Prasad Bhattarai, Project Director, Central Level Project Implementation Unit, Ministry of Education and Sports, Government of Nepal. Officials from the Government of Nepal, teachers, students, media representatives, and other local stakeholders also attended the event.

2.     The project, with an estimated cost of NPR 5.50 crore, is being implemented through Government of India’s post-earthquake reconstruction grant assistance. The new building will comprise two blocks housing seven classrooms, science laboratories, administrative offices, and dedicated sanitation facilities.

3.     Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Laxmi Prasad Bhattarai, Project Director, CLPIU, highlighted the technical and financial support extended by the Government of India for the reconstruction of educational infrastructure in Nepal.

4.   Mr. Kunsang Lama, Mayor expressed his appreciation for the Government of India’s support and emphasized that upgrading school infrastructure is essential for creating a better learning environment for students.

5.     Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narayan Singh, First Secretary, Embassy of India, highlighted the various development projects implemented in Nepal under the Government of India’s grant assistance programme. He noted that the present project represents yet another milestone in the enduring development partnership between India and Nepal.

6.     The project reflects the deep and multifaceted development partnership between India and Nepal. It also complements the Government of Nepal’s efforts towards post-earthquake reconstruction and the strengthening of educational infrastructure.
