Inauguration of High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) in Doti, Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal

    Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus, (renamed as Kedar Surya Multiple Campus), Badikedar Rural Municipality, Doti, Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal built with Government of India’s financial assistance was jointly inaugurated today by Mr. Basist Nandan, First Secretary, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and Mr. Bhairav Bahadur Saud, Chairman, Badikedar Rural Municipality, Doti.

2.     The construction of the double storied campus building comprising 7 rooms on each floor and allied facilities was undertaken as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP). The project was implemented through the Badikedar Rural Municipality, Doti.

3.    The Kedar Surya Multiple Campus, Badikedar Rural Municipality is affiliated to Tribhuvan University. It offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) programmes. 

4.     Chairman, Badikedar Rural Municipality, Campus Management, and other stakeholders appreciated the development support being provided by the Government of India. They conveyed that the new infrastructure would help strengthen the educational infrastructure in the region. 

5.    Since the inception of the HICDP programme, close to 600 projects have been undertaken by the Government of India, covering all 7 provinces of Nepal and spanning 74 districts across various sectors. Of these, 47 projects are located in Sudurpaschim Province, including 4 projects in Doti District. In addition, Government of India has gifted 78 ambulances and 40 school buses to various institutions working in the health and education sectors of Sudurpaschim Province, including 9 ambulances and 3 school buses in the Doti district.

6.    As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
