Contract signed between contractors and CLPIU(Education) for construction of 14 schools under GoI grant

    Central Level Project Implementation Unit- Education (CLPIU), Ministry of Education and Sports signed contract agreements for the construction of 14 schools located in Gorkha, Nuwakot, Dhading, Dolakha, Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchowk, Ramechhap and Sindhupalchok districts of Nepal. These schools will be built as part of Government of India’s post-earthquake reconstruction assistance in Nepal through a grant of NRs. 56.02 crore.

2.    The event was attended by Counsellor (DP&R), Embassy of India, PD(CLPIU), CLPIU officials and representatives of contractors. 

3.    These schools will be built as per Government of Nepal’s norms for earthquake-resilient reconstruction. The school infrastructure will consist of academic blocks, classrooms along with furniture and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls.  

4.    Under the Government of India’s Post-Earthquake Reconstruction Grant, 70 schools across 8 districts and the Tribhuvan University Central Library have already been completed and handed over to the Government of Nepal in January 2024.

5.    Government of India remains committed to continue collaborating with Government of Nepal and its agencies for socio-economic development of Nepal, including post-earthquake reconstruction projects.
