Inauguration of High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) in Darchula, Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal
The School Building of Shree Latinath Secondary School, Rithachaupata, Lekam Rural Municipality, Darchula, Sudurpaschim Province, built with Government of India’s financial assistance was jointly inaugurated today by Mr. Mahadev Badu Kashyap, Chief of District Coordination Committee, Darchula, Mr. Ram Dutta Joshi, Chairman, Lekam Rural Municipality and Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Second Secretary, Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
2. The construction of two double storied school buildings and allied facilities was undertaken as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), which was implemented through the District Coordination Committee, Darchula.
3. Shree Latinath Secondary School, Rithachaupata, Darchula was established in 1955 A.D. as a primary school and upgraded to Higher Secondary level in 2008. The school has around 566 students.
4. Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Darchula; Chairman, Lekam Rural Municipality, School Management; and other stakeholders appreciated the development support being provided by the Government of India. They conveyed that the new infrastructure would help strengthen the education sector in the region.
5. As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
