Foundation Stone laying ceremony of Emergency Block of Ilam Hospital in Ilam, Nepal
The Foundation Stone for the Construction of Ilam Hospital Emergency Block, Ilam Municipality - 07, Ilam district in Koshi province of Nepal, was jointly laid today by Ms. Gitanjali Brandon, Counsellor, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and Mr. Kedar Thapa, Mayor, Ilam Municipality.
2. The Ilam Hospital Emergency Block is being built with Government of India’s financial assistance of Nepali Rupees 94 million approximately. This High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), will be implemented through Ilam Municipality.
3. The Mayor of Ilam Municipality and other stakeholders appreciated the developmental support being provided by the Government of India, and expressed confidence that the new facility would help promote access to healthcare services in Ilam Municipality.
4. As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
