Based on information received from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the Tara Air flight that took off from Pokhara at 9.55 AM today with 19 passengers and 3 crew members had last come into contact at 10.07 am with Air Traffic Control and has gone missing. A fishtail air helicopter was sent for search and rescue, but due to harsh weather conditions, the helicopter has returned to Jomsom. Helicopters are on standby at Kathmandu, Pokhara and Jomsom airport awaiting to take off for search and rescue.  Nepali army and Nepal police has already been deputed for search & rescue operation via land route.

2.  4 Indian nationals were onboard. The embassy is in touch with their family.
