Ambassador Kwatra calls on Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal

Ambassador of India to Nepal, H.E. Mr. Vinay Mohan Kwatra called on Hon’ble Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Mr. Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, in his office today.

Ambassador congratulated Hon’be Minister on his recent appointment as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and conveyed best wishes.

They held discussions on several forward looking areas of cooperation in power sector between India and Nepal including facilitation and early completion of several large-scale joint projects.

India and Nepal have a multi-faceted engagement in power sector which has significantly deepened in the last four to five years since the signing of the Power Trade Agreement in 2014. This includes Indian investments in Nepali hydro power sector, building of high voltage and medium voltage cross border transmission lines, facilitation of power trade as well as coordination on grid operations.
