A Nepali singer reinvigorates Prime Minister Modi’s memories of Nepal visit

The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi appraises the lead singer of classical music band ‘Sursudha’ Ms. Saraswati Khatri by a tweet made at 1720 hrs on 22nd October 2018.

After listening the favourite Bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi –‘Vaisnav jan te tene kahiye’ recorded in voice of Ms. Khatri, the PM said, “the Bhajan in voice of Ms. Saraswati Khatri reinvigorated my memories of Nepal Visit”.

Ms. Khatri had chanted this Bhajan also in a function organized at Rastriya Sabha Griha in gracious presence of Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Nepal Mr. Ishawor Pokharel to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of the World Peace leader –Mahatma Gandhi. While DPM Pokharel had also appraised the singing of Ms. Khatri, the audiences present at the function were also mesmerized by her Bhajan.

In his tweet PM Modi has also mentioned that the favourite Bhajan of Gandhi ‘Vaisnav jan te tene kahiye’ depicts the cultural ethos of both Nepal and India.
